Joseph Adler has dedicated
his professional life to becoming a top business lawyer. His
expertise in franchise, licensing and distribution law enables
him to provide insight and guidance on the business of franchising,
including on matters involving commercial agreements, leasing,
licensing and intellectual property. Joseph is also a Trade-Mark
Agent who assists his clients to file, prosecute, maintain,
and protect trade-marks around the world. Joseph is counsel
to franchise systems throughout North America. He acts for multi-unit
franchisees and franchisee associations as well. Joseph has
been listed as one of the leading franchise practitioners in
the 2005 and 2006 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and is identified
in the 2006-2007 edition of Who's Who in Executives and
Professionals. He has published and has been quoted in
numerous articles and has spoken at various venues on franchising
topics, including for the Canadian Franchise Association, the
Ontario Bar Association and the International Franchise Association.
Joseph is a member of the Canadian Franchise Association's Legal
and Legislative Affairs Committee and the editorial board of
the Canadian Franchise Review and is the Canadian representative
on the International Franchise Lawyers Association. He holds
a B.A. in Mathematics as well as a B.A. in Religious Studies
from York University, an LL.B. from the University of Western
Ontario and a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto.
He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990.
